India’s promising all-rounder Nitish Reddy stunned Australia by pulling off MS Dhoni’s trademark helicopter shot to slam an authoritative six in the third innings of the first Test at Perth. Reddy was facing just the 7th ball of his inning when he showed courage in an attempt to pace up the game.
Team India declared second innings at Perth Test against Australia at 487/6, with a lead of 534 runs. The mammoth score was anchored by Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. After a 201-run partnership between the openers, Kohli slammed his 81st international Test century batting at no.4 He ended his 15 months drought to regain form amid talks around his retirement.

That being said, Nitish Kumar Reddy, the debutant who impressed with an important 41-run knock in the first innings, once again helped India pace up the game in the final hour of Day 3.
Facing just the 7th ball of the day, Nitish Reddy danced down the track with the intent to hit Mitchell Marsh’s fuller-length delivery out of the park. His intent and timing were strong, and he whacked a powerful helicopter shot to hammer a six over the backward square leg boundary. That six powered India’s score to 422/6 before they declared the innings at 487/6.
That being said, at stumps on Day 3, India destroyed Australia to 12/3 with 522 runs still needed to win. Jasprit Bumrah once again struck twice with Mohammed Siraj also dismissing night watchman Pat Cummins.
Virat Kohli ends century drought in Perth
Indian superstar Virat Kohli finally snapped out of his prolonged ill form as he slammed a hundred in the Perth Test against Australia. The batter brought up his 81st international and 30th Test century in style with a boundary and posed a smile of relief on his face. His teammates and wife, Anushka Sharma, applauded him from the stands as he walked off to a standing ovation. Bumrah declared the innings with Australia tasked to chase 534 runs to win the game.
