[Watch] Mohammad Amir Furiously Shouts At Imad Wasim For Lazy Fielding In CPL 2024

Pakistan's ace speedster Mohammad Amir lost his cool and shouted at his teammate, Imad Wasim, for a fielding blunder in Antigua & Barbuda Falcons' third group-stage encounter against Barbados Royals in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League season. Known for his incredible all-round attributes, Imad frustrated Amir with a lazy fielding effort near the boundary, receiving a mouthful from the fast bowler.

The incident occurred during the 14th over of Barbados Royals' innings when they had already claimed the driving seat, thanks to Quinton de Kock's whirlwind knock. As the swashbuckling South African batter was smashing the Falcons all around the park, Antigua skipper Chris Green brought Amir into the attack in pursuit of a breakthrough.

However, De Kock greeted the veteran pacer with a cheeky shot, which went over the bowler's head for a boundary. Amir bowled a short ball outside the off stump, with De Kock playing a delicate upper cut towards the third man.

Although he had timed it well, the ground's slow outfield made the ball travel slower than expected, giving Imad Wasim to save a boundary for his side. However, the seasoned campaigner, who had registered a failure with the bat earlier, showed little commitment to the team, putting up an incredibly lazy effort near the ropes.

Imad kept strolling, as the ball eventually breached the fence, awarding four runs to De Kock and the Royals. His poor fielding effort prompted Amir to react furiously, as the bowler was caught shouting at him by the stump mic at the non-striker's end.

Antigua's losing streak continues in CPL 2024

Antigua & Barbuda Falcons, playing their first CPL, have been winless in the tournament so far. After suffering narrow defeats against St Kitts and Guyana Amazon Warriors, the Falcons were swatted aside by nine wickets in a one-sided affair against the Royals last night. They will face St Lucia Kings in their next CPL match in Antigua on September 4.
