 After being asked to bat, the Falcons struggled early, losing key wickets and ending up at 74/5 by the 11th over. Jewel Andrew and Chris Green stabilized the innings, with Andrew falling just short of a half-century and Green contributing 20 runs. They managed a total of 145. 

Obed McCoy excel with the ball, taking 3/31, while Maheesh Theekshana and Jason Holder added two wickets each. In reply, Quinton de Kock’s explosive 87* and Rahkeem Cornwall’s 34 off 20 set a strong foundation, securing the win with Brooks adding an unbeaten 21.

Barbados Royals: The Rovman Powell-led Barbados Royals are making their first appearance this season. Jason Holder, Rahkeem Cornwall, Maheesh Theekshana, Obed McCoy, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Quinton de Kock's experience, in tandem with the class of Alick Athanaze and Shamarh Brooks, make the Royals a strong set-up. Nyeem Young is a talented pacer to look forward to, while a few West Indies Under-19 stars give the exuberance of youth. 

Brooks will replace South African David Miller, who will be available after two matches. Dunith Wellalage will replace Keshav Maharaj, who is also missing out for the same reason as Miller, as the two Proteas players will attend the Cricket South Africa awards function on September 5.

The Barbados-based franchise had a forgettable season last time, finishing fifth with only three wins. They will aim for a better season this time and also have a good squad.

The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons : The Chris Green-led side was again put into bat first, but this time, it was by Guyana Amazon Warriors. It was another failure for Teddy Bishop, but Fakhar Zaman and Kofi James again rebuilt with a brilliant partnership, only to see Gudakesh Motie turn the tide with his left-arm magic. Imad Wasim stood tall in the end to give a solid finishing touch to propel the Antigua & Barbuda-based franchise to 168/6 in 20 overs, five more than their first innings score against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

The Falcons bowlers struck at regular intervals and squeezed the long batting line-up of the Amazon Warriors but lost control over the proceedings, with the beast Romario Shepherd and Dwaine Pretorius flexing their muscles to smash Mohammad Amir to all parts of Antigua. Amir, who bowled two tidy overs, conceded 18 runs each in the 18th and 20th over. Wasim, skipper Green, Shamar Springer and Fabian Allen were good with the ball, and the spinners, in particular, put a stranglehold for the majority of the run-chase.

After that one-wicket loss, this three-wicket defeat would have definitely hurt the hosts.
