Barbados Royals consigned Antigua and Barbuda Falcons to their third straight defeat in match number four of the CPL 2024 season at Antigua’s Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Blistering openers Quinton de Kock and Rahkeem Cornwall blazed Barbados Royals to its team 50 in just five overs without a single casualty. The two batters launched an all-out assault on Chris Green and Mohammad Amir, and seemed to have taken a special liking to right-arm paceman Shamar Springer.

Moments after blasting 76 runs in the six-over powerplay period, Cornwall became the first victim of Royals’ self-imposed ferociousness as he was toppled by Imad Wasim at 80-1.

Quinton de Kock marched on with a new partner (Shamarh Brooks) in the run-chase after the dismissal of Rahkeem Cornwall. The dashing opening batter ended up smacking nine boundaries and five sixes in his turbulent 45-ball knock to fetch 87 unbeaten runs for his team.

Quinton’s raging effort also headlined a huge nine-wicket victory for Barbados Royals in just 15.3 overs.
