Ibrahim Zadran, who played a blinder in Afghanistan' first match of the T20 World Cup 2024, got an early respite in the ongoing clash Vs New Zealand.

One of the key players for the Afghan side, New Zealand were hopeful of seeing him back in the pavilion early on, but a Finn Allen mistake gave the opener a second lifeline.

Matt Henry, who loves to bowl short of length deliveries, tested Zadran with one, and the opener went ahead with his attempted pull shot. He miscued it and found Finn Allen at deep backward square leg, who had all the time in the world to grab the catch, but spilled it badly.

The ball came into his hands, but Allen couldn't judge it well as disappointment could be seen on his face.

Talking about the contest, the two teams are playing on a slow surface at the Providence Stadium, Guyana. Both Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz were off to a decent start, but the slowness of the surface got to both the batters as stroke-making became difficult.

However, the two batters re-group and have suddenly taken the attack to the New Zealand bowlers as the scoreboar reads - 101/0 after 14 overs.
