Nitish Rana against Purani Dilli-6 (Source:@DelhiPLT20/X.com)
Nitish Rana is currently playing in the Delhi Premier League 2025 and is leading West Delhi Lions. He has played a couple of decent cameos in the season so far, but could not make an impact with the bat in the third match against Purani Dilli-6.
However, he was pretty proactive on the field as captain, and he ended up losing his cool while fielding in the game. In a video released by the official X handle of the Delhi Premier League T20, Nitish Rana is seen arguing with the umpire. He is looking visibly disappointed, but the reason for it is still unknown.
Nitish Rana Makes His Disagreement With Umpire Visible
In the video, Nitish Rana is seen telling the umpire to address a situation. The umpire initially tries to do it, but then argues with Nitish Rana, telling him his side of the story. However, Nitish Rana was not convinced by the umpire's argument and looked pretty animated.
The situation did not escalate further, and Nitish Rana was soon back in his fielding position. However, it shows how seriously Nitish Rana takes his job as a leader in the Delhi Premier League. The cricketer has led Delhi in domestic cricket for a long time and even captained KKR in the 2023 season of IPL.
West Delhi Lions Lose Their First Match After Two Consecutive Wins
Unfortunately for Nitish Rana, his team lost the match against Purani Dilli-6 by 15 runs. Nitish Rana could score just 15 off 14 balls in the run-chase while he bowled one over with the ball in hand.
Overall, it was the first loss for West Delhi Lions in the Delhi Premier League 2025. They started off with two clinical run-chase and would love to bounce back in the next match against East Delhi Riders, a team they beat by seven wickets in their opening game of the season.
