Sun rising from the East, Gravity working, and Digvesh Rathi picking up controversies are some things that cannot be changed. In the recent game in the ongoing Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025, leg spinner Rathi grabbed headlines with another major controversy.

Rathi Picks Up A Beef With Ankit Kumar

It was the seventh match of the ongoing DPL 2025, where West Delhi Lions were up against South Delhi Superstarz at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In the second inning, the West Delhi Lions were chasing 186 for victory.

During the chase, leg spinner Digvesh Singh Rathi, who was bowling to left-handed opening batter Ankit Kumar, had a confrontation with the batter.

It all happened after the 4.5 ball over of the second innings, when Rathi came in to bowl to left-handed batter Ankit. Rathi pulled out of his action, while he was about to bowl, and the batter was left in thought, while the bowler was looking to gather what he felt was Ankit's trigger moment.

Following which, on the very next delivery, Rathi came around the wicket to Ankit, but this time the batter pulled out, and the following reaction got Rathi back in the news.

The Digvesh then hurled some abuses at the batter, as Ankit did not even bother to look at the spinner. The words were exchanged, and Rathi then completed the over.

Later, the spinner came back to bowl in the 12th over of the innings, to which Ankit Kumar smashed him for two consecutive sixes, giving a reply with the bat. Following this confrontation, Rathi didn't bowl another over and only finished three of his overs, giving away 33 runs without picking up a wicket.

Rathi Fails As Ankit Takes West Delhi To Victory

Earlier in the day, South Delhi Superstarz batted first and were able to score 185 after skipper Ayush Badoni's whirlwind 25-ball 48-run knock.

Chasing 186 for victory, openers Krish Yadav and Ankit played exceedingly well, with the former scoring 67, while Kumar went on to score 96, as the Lions chased the score within just 15.4 overs with eight wickets in hand.
