The Delhi Premier League (DPL) just found another name to watch out for and his bat is doing all the talking. Ayush Doseja, the only retained player by the West Delhi Lions, lived up to the hype and then some as he hammered a magnificent century against Purani Delhi 6 and became the leading run-scorer of DPL 2025 in the process.
Ayush Doseja Hits Century To Become Top DPL Run-Getter
Coming in with West Delhi Lions wobbling early in a tricky chase of 187, Doseja didn’t waste any time settling in. He went after the bowlers like a man on a mission, taking Purani Delhi’s attack to the cleaners. By the time he raised his bat for a ton off just 52 balls, the crowd was already chanting his name.
He cracked 10 fours and 5 sixes, faced only 12 dot balls and batted like someone who knew exactly what was at stake. And though West Delhi fell short by 15 runs, Doseja's knock stood tall.
Not Just a One-Hit Wonder
If anyone thought Ayush Doseja’s stunning 84* off 48 in the opener was a fluke, he has shut them up in style. That unbeaten blitz had already helped West Delhi script the highest run-chase in DPL history against the defending champs East Delhi Riders. Three days later, he has gone and added a century to his name.
With 189 runs in just 3 innings, an average of 189.00 and a strike rate of 183.50, this lad is not just ticking boxes, he’s smashing them.
Shades Of Priyansh Arya?
Hard not to draw parallels, isn’t it? Priyansh Arya set the DPL alight not too long ago, smashing 608 runs at a strike rate close to 200, earning himself an IPL contract with Punjab Kings for a cool INR 3.8 crore. Now, Ayush Doseja seems to be walking that same path, one match-winning knock at a time.
Both left-handed. Both aggressive. Both fearless. Arya made headlines with six sixes in an over. Doseja is already playing the kind of cricket that gets scouts picking up their phones.
IPL Calling Soon?
Doseja may not have an IPL badge on his chest yet, but if he keeps batting like this, it’s only a matter of time. The IPL 2025 already saw Arya become PBKS' poster boy. With Doseja lighting up the DPL now, franchise scouts might just be watching another superstar in the making.
Keep your eyes peeled because Ayush Doseja is not here to warm the bench, he is here to raise the roof. And if the script stays the same, Delhi might just be home to the next big IPL breakout story.
