In the Indian Premier League, Royal Challenger Bengaluru (RCB) hold the record for the lowest score, having been all out for 49 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2017. 

However, in international cricket, Mongolia were bundled out for just 12 runs against Japan today, marking the second-lowest T20I score in history.

Batting first Japan posted a challenging total of 217/7 in their 20 overs. In response, Mongolia could only manage 12 runs before being bowled out in just 8.2 overs.

Mongolia made their cricketing debut at the Asian Games seven months before. It's worth noting that the record for the lowest T20I score is held by the Isle of Man, who were all out for just 10 runs against Spain.


Japan humiliate Mongolia at Sano stadium

At the Sano International Cricket Ground, 17-year-old left-arm seamer Kazuma Kato-Stafford was the standout performer for Japan, claiming figures of 5 for 7 from his 3.2 overs.

Also, Abdul Samad (2/4) and Makoto Taniyama (2/0) also chipped in with two wickets each for Japan. Tur Sumaya was Mongolia's top-scorer, contributing 4 runs off 11 balls.

Japan and Mongolia are currently playing a 7-match T20I series. Japan won the first game of the series, and this match is the second encounter between the two teams.

Mongolia had another record to their name, Nepal has the record of highest score in T20  cricket to their name. Nepal scored 314-3 against Mongolia in the Asian games.
