When Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) last faced Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2023, Krunal Pandya was given the opportunity to captain the LSG side, and he led LSG to a crucial victory.

In a convincing display, LSG secured a 7-wicket win against the home side SRH, thanks to a mature innings from Prerak Mankad, who was awarded Player of the Match, but the real hero was Nicholas Pooran, who turned the game in LSG's favor in no time.

Winning the toss, SRH opted to bat first and posted a total of 182/6 in 20 overs. This year's IPL standout, Heinrich Klaasen, played a crucial role in rescuing SRH, scoring 47 runs from 29 balls to help his team reach a competitive total.

LSG skipper Krunal Pandya had an impressive outing with the ball, taking two wickets while conceding just 24 runs in his four overs.

In the absence of injured KL Rahul, Kyle Mayers and De Kock opened the innings for LSG. While Mayers failed to make an impact, De Kock made a quick 29 runs, which gave LSG the much-needed start.

Player of the match Prerak Mankad, who came in at number 3, then scored a crucial 64 off 45 balls, supported by Marcus Stoinis, who scored 40 off 25 balls, taking control of the game.

However, it was Nicholas Pooran's explosive 44 off just 13 balls that provided the finishing touch as LSG chased down the target in 19.2 overs, securing a convincing win over SRH which was very crucial in their playoff berth confirmation.

Tonight's SRH LSG clash

In IPL 2024, both teams find themselves in a similar situation, facing each other at the same ground. A loss for either team would push them further away from the playoffs.

Tonight's game at Rajiv Gandhi international stadium is similar to a knockout match. The team that emerges victorious will significantly improve their chances of making it to the playoffs.
