At the end of Day 2 of the Duleep Trophy 2024 first-round contest between India C and India D, the latter had a lead of 202 runs powered by Shreyas Iyer and Devdutt Padikkal’s individual fifties.
However, Manav Suthar from India C delivered the counter punch to neutralise the tail with an exemplary fifer.

India C arrived on Day 2 at 91/4 after Baba Indrajith and Abhishek Porel stitched a 50-run partnership to escape a collapse. However, on Day 2, Harshit Rana broke the partnership by dismissing Porel on 34. He followed it up with Manav Suthar’s wicket in the same spell to induce a collapse. India C were eventually bundled for 168 runs with a 4-run lead.

India C put India D under pressure with early wickets of opener Atharva Taide and Yash Dubey. However, captain Shreyas Iyer launched a counterattack to smash a 39-ball fifty, including 9 boundaries and a maximum.
Devdutt Padikkal supported his captain equally from the other end as he moved on from the first innings failure to slam a half-century as well. The duo stacked 50 runs together to rebuild India D’s inning.
