The Duleep Trophy 2024: Ruturaj Gaikwad led-India C is currently involved in an intense clash at the RDT Stadium in Anantapur against Shreyas Iyer's India D. During the game an unexpected deja vu moment occurred as a fan rushed to field and touched the feet of Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. 

This reminded fans of Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings IPL 2023 game at Ahmedabad, when a pitch-invader defied all norms and hurriedly ran to the ground to touch the feet of legendary MS Dhoni.


Baba Indrajith's Fighting 66 Keeps India C's Hopes Alive

Talking about the game,  Ruturaj Gaikwad led India C won the toss and opted to bowl first, putting immense pressure on India D. Right from the start, Gaikwad and Co kept Shreyas Iyer's army on their toes. As they all departed for mostly single-digit scores. First, Athrava Taide was dismissed by Vijaykumar Vyshak for just four runs, followed by Yash Dubey and Shreyas Iyer, who departed cheaply. 

From India C's perspective, Vijay Vyshak has been the most successful for his team having picked three wickets. He is followed by Anshul Kamboj and Himanshu Chauhan both of whom have two wickets. 

India D ended their innings at 164. At the time of writing, Gaikwad and Co have crumbled under pressure having lost eight wickets. This destruction can be credited to Harshit Rana, who even pulled off his iconic 'Flying Kiss celebration' after dismissing Gaikwad. Currently Baba Indrajith's 66 runs off 137 balls, have helped his team power through and are at 157.
