Indian star all-rounder Axar Patel, a beacon of resilience, brought his A-game in the first match of the prestigious Duleep Trophy 2024 between India C and India D at the Rural Development Trust Stadium, Anantapur. Axar's knock was crucial as his team was already in a tough spot of bother.

Yet again, Axar showcased his brilliance and range with some breathtaking shots off Manav Suthar, which eventually brought up his half-century.

While his team might have lacked a show-stopping performance, Axar Patel, with his strategic brilliance, ensured his fine innings were on full display. Up until his entry to the scene, Srikar Bharat registered the highest score, that too of just 13 runs.




Gaikwad and Co Give India D A Run For Their Money

Talking about the game, Ruturaj Gaikwad led India C won the toss and opted to bowl first, putting immense pressure on India D. Right from the start, Gaikwad and Co kept Shreyas Iyer's army on their toes. As they all departed for mostly single-digit scores. First, Athrava Taide was dismissed by Vijaykumar Vyshak for just four runs, followed by Yash Dubey and Shreyas Iyer, who departed cheaply. 

From India D's perspective, Vijay Vyshak has been the most successful for his team having picked three wickets. He is followed by Anshul Kamboj and Himanshu Chauhan both of whom have two wickets.

However, at the time of writing, India C is at 164, with Axar Patel just being dismissed. Axar missed out on a well-deserving century as he was dismissed for 86 runs.
