England captain, Ollie Pope channeled his inner Rohit Sharma and played a sensational pull-shot which went the distance in the ongoing 3rd Test against the visiting Sri Lankan side.

Rohit is known as the master of the pull shot and is arguably the greatest six-hitter of the modern generation. Pope, doesn't have the same power as Rohit, but the elegant batter showed his class and mirrored the Indian captain with a pull-shot against Sri Lanka's Lahiru Kumara.

The England team lost the toss and were put into bat on a cloudy day in London. Despite losing an early wicket of Dan Lawrence, Pope and Ben Duckett played with aggression and took the attack to the opposition.

Pope exhibited class and played the shot of the morning session when he pulled a Kumara delivery over the deep square leg region.

Kumara bowled short at the body, and it was all a part of the plan as there was a fielder placed at fine leg. However, Pope executed the pull shot to perfection as he swivelled a bit and clobbered it well over the deep square leg region, which reminded fans of how Rohit plays the same shot.

Pope struggling for runs in ongoing series

The England's stand-in skipper, Pope has struggled for runs in the ongoing series. He was appointed as the captain after Ben Stokes injured himself during The Men's Hundred tournament, last month.

So far, he has just managed to score just 6, 6, 1, and 17 in the four innings Vs Sri Lanka, and is yet to trouble the opposition bowler with his class.

England would hope that the skipper returns back to form, ahead of the crucial Test series against Pakistan, scheduled next month.
