Guyana Amazon Warriors outclassed St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in a high-scoring cracker at Warner Park in match number seven of the CPL 2024 season.

Here’s the timeline of how GAW vs SKNP panned out in St Kitts:

GAW vs SKNP Highlights: Rahmanullah Gurbaz Peppers Patriots With An Explosive Start

Guyana Amazon Warriors opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz unleashed an extraordinary sequence of scorching boundaries and towering sixes at the top despite losing Kevin Sinclair and Shai Hope early in the innings. Kyle Mayers had Sinclair caught out at cover by Sherfane Rutherford in the third over before Gurbaz orchestrated a 53-run powerplay start for his team.

Mere moments after the opening powerplay, Shai Hope was holed out at long on by Mikyle Louis off Veerasammy Permaul, thus prompting Shimron Hetmyer to form forces with a raging Gurbaz in the middle.

Losing opener Evin Lewis for just three to Dwaine Pretorius in a chase of 267, Patriots captain Andre Fletcher initiated his team’s aggressive intent by blanking Warriors’ new-ball attack. He shared 69 runs for the second wicket with Kyle Mayers (28 off 17) before getting joined by Sherfane Rutherford at the crease. The two cricketers collectively blitzed the Patriots to 94-2 at the end of the opening powerplay.

Rutherford himself launched three boundaries and three sixes in his 12-ball knock of 34 before he miscued one off Raymon Reifer at 138-3 in 8.4 overs. Regardless, Fletcher at the other end kept the chase alive for a little longer by smearing 81 runs from 33 balls with four boundaries and nine sixes and took his team past the 150-run mark.
