The CPL 2024 is becoming a witness of one of the biggest run-fests in the history of the tournament. In the seventh game of the tournament, the Guyana Amazon Warriors are taking on the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots at the Warner Park in St. Kitts.

The Warriors posted a record breaking total in the game while batting first. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shimron Hetmyer thrashed the bowlers of the Patriots to all parts of the ground and helped the team to a massive score of 266/7 in their 20 overs.

Rutherford and Fletcher propelled the Patriots towards the target

The Patriots came out the right attitude to chase down the huge target. Even though they lost Evin Lewis early in the innings, skipper, Andre Fletcher along with Sherfane Rutherford added injected great momentum into the innings.

Both the batters were taking the toll on the bowlers and it was frustrating the Patriots. The frustration of the team was evident on the reactions of Keemo Paul during the eighth over of the second innings. During this over, Paul tried to block the running path of Andre Fletcher, who was going great guns at that moment.

Fletcher and Paul exchange heated words

The little stunt by Paul, did not impress Fletcher and he spoke to the bowler about it immediately. Paul was also not ready to submit meekly and said his share of words. Thus the scenes turned a bit serious with both the players trying to put their points forward. However, it did not get too ugly as other teammates and umpires stepped in to separate the two players.

Coming back to the game, in reply to Warriors' 267, the Patriots put up a valiant fight. But they started losing wickets in the middle phase and that put them behind in the game. In the end despite a tough fight, the Patriots could score 226 before being bundled out in the 18 the over and lost match by 40 runs.
