The Guyana Amazon Warriors and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots are playing against each other in the seventh match of the CPL 2024. This match is being played at the Warner Park in St. Kitts.

The Warriors managed to win the toss ahead of the game and decided to bat first on what is expected to be a batting friendly wicket. The Warriors would have hoped for their openers, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Kevin Sinclair to give them a good start. 

Gurbaz and Sinclair looked in a godo touch and it seemed like they will lay a strong foundatio for the team. However, that did not happen as Kyle Mayers picked up the wicket of Kevin Sinclair in the third over of the innings.

Mayers struck early in the match

On the fourth delivery of the over, Mayers bowled fullish and slower delivery outside the off stump, inviting the big shot from Sinclair. Seeing the ball pitched up, Sinclair's eyes lit up and he tried to play an inside out shot over mid-off. But the batter failed to time the ball and got it off the outside edge of the blade. The ball skied up in the air to be taken by Rutherford at the edge of the circle.

Kyle Mayers is having a brilliant CPL 2024

Kyle Mayers has been in an execllent all-round form in CPL 2024 so far. In the previous outing, he displayed his brilliance in all three disciplines of the game. With the bat he scored 92 runs and then came in to pick up two wickets with the ball. Mayers also contributed to the team's cause with a couple of wickets. However, unfortunately for him, the Patriots failed to win that game despite a player of the match performance by him.
