Highlights of IPL 2024 auction

Australian duo of Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins got sold to KKR and SRH for INR 24.75 crore and 20.50 crore respectively, becoming the top two buys in the IPL auction history.

Harshal Patel was the costliest Indian player in the IPL 2024 auction. PBKS roped him in for INR 11.75 crore.

Sameer Rizvi emerged as the most-sought after uncapped player in this auction. CSK signed him for INR 8.4 crore.

Wanindu Hasaranga (1.5 crore by SRH), Rachin Ravindra (1.8 crore by CSK), Gerald Coetzee (5 crore by MI) and Shardul Thakur (4 crore by CSK) proved to economical buys.

Steve Smith, Josh Hazlewood, Adil Rashid, Michael Bracewell, Philip Salt and Josh Inglis went unsold.

Gerald Coetzee (5 crore by MI), Rachin Ravindra (1.80 crore by CSK) and Wanindu Hasaranga (1.50 crore by SRH) proved to be the eonomical buys.

We will now move to Set-2, which comprises capped all-rounders. Quite a lot big names here. Many teams would go after Gerald Coetzee, Pat Cummins, Wanindu Hasaranga, Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra and Shardul Thakur.

Aayush: There is dearth of quality finishers in this IPL auction and that's what raised Powell's bid to INR 7.40 crore. RR have spent more than half of their purse on him.

This brings us to the end of Set-1. No surprises there. Out of seven players, only three got sold. Rovman Powell attained the highest bid of INR 7.40 crore from Rajasthan Royals. Travis Head and Harry Brook got acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals for INR 6.80 crore and INR 4 crore respectively.
