No questions over who it was going to be other than Yashasvi Jaiswal. The youngster was way too ahead of everyone in the series. Two double hundreds to along with three fifties, he amassed a total of 712 runs at an average of 89 in nine innings. Jaiswal truly deserves the award for being the torch-bearer for the Indian side in this series. Proper aggressive starts.

IND vs ENG, 5th Test, Day 3 Live Score: Summary

What a fabulous series this was, especially for the home side India. After losing the first Test, they came back strong in the next game, registering victory in Visakhapatnam, Rajkot and Ranchi. Then came the Dharamshala Test where India put their best foot forward to dominate in the entire game. Almost every batter scored runs, spinners picked wickets and fielders took their catches. This was as perfect a game as one can get.

Rohit Sharma was phenomenal with the bat along with Shubman Gill. Not to forget, Yashasvi Jaiswal's superb contribution. Later, it was Devdutt Padikkal and Sarfaraz Khan who took India to the safer shores. On the bowling front, Kuldeep bagged a fifer in the first innings and in the second innings, R Ashwin playing his 100th Test got the five-wicket haul.

England, on the other side, have a lot to look at. Runs were hardly coming from anyone consistently except Zak Crawley who got to 79 in the first innings. Joe Root showed some resurgence in the second innings but it was too late for them to recover from. Shoaib Bashir had a fifer to his name too while the GOAT Jimmy Anderson became the first pacer to pick 700 Test Wickets. First Test series loss for England under Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes.

In the end, India won by an innings and 64 runs while earning the series victory by 4-1.

INDIA WIN!! Joe Root's resistance comes to an end. He holes out to long-on against Kuldeep Yadav after coming down the track. India register the victory by an innings and 64 runs. Bazball's reign is over as they bow down to the Indian supremacy.

England are nine down! Shoaib Bashir's off-stump has been knocked over by Ravindra Jadeja. India just one wicket away from victory. Guess what, Bashir was all set to review it! He almost went upstairs until he found the stump has been smashed. Tea has been extended for half-an-hour.

Jasprit Bumrah finally gets his first wicket of the game as he gets Tom Hartley right in front of stumps who doesn't even bothers for a review after been given out on-field. Credit to Bumrah for bringing himself back into the attack. India now three wickets away from victory.

What a session this was for India! India did lost two wickets in the morning but then, it was just the magic of R Ashwin who bagged four out of five English wickets to rattle them at a score of 103. James Anderson strikes and gets Kuldeep Yadav's wicket caught behind. 700 for the GOAT Jimmy Anderson in Test Cricket. The third in the history of the game to touch the landmark. Great bowling and that's what he has done in his entire career. India lose their ninth as Kuldeep's resistance ends on 30.

IND vs ENG, 5th Test, Day 3 Live Score: Match Begins

We are all set for the action to begin on Day 3. The players are out there in the middle. Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah will resume for India. Shoaib Bashir will start the proceedings for England this morning. Here we go.  

Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah will walk out for India tomorrow morning with an intent to get the score past 500 which is currently at 473 for the loss of eight wickets. As for England, the spinners will have to be negotiated well if they get past the James Anderson challenge.

The first two days were highly fascinating with game mostly in India's favour. Kuldeep Yadav did most of the damage with the ball in the first innings getting a five-wicket haul while Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill struck two outstanding centuries to help India take lead of 255 runs by the end of the second day's play.
