India's rising young prodigy Shubman Gill already boasts of a humongous fanbase in India and around the globe. The elegant right-hander is especially popular amongst the youth for his free-flowing style and aggressive streak as a cricketer and batter. 

The 24-year-old, considered the legacy successor of legendary Virat Kohli at the international stage, is also an active personality on social media forums and doesn't shy away from interacting with his fans on Twitter and Instagram. 

In one such interaction, however, Gill left the fans in splits when he replied to an interesting post from one of his many fangirls, who wrote she would focus on her studies if the player responded to the reel she had made for her favourite Indian cricket star. 

Shubman Gill's Funny Instagram Response 

In the reel, the girl had written, 

"Agar Shubman ne iss reel pe comment kiya toh kal se padhna shuru kar dungi (if Shubman replied to this reel, I would start studying from tomorrow)." To which, the cricketer gave a witty response, stating: "shuru kar do padhna (please start studying)."


The response reflected of a cricketer who was in a good mood and high spirits after regaining his lost mojo over the last two Tests of the ongoing series against England. 

Facing extensive flak and criticism plus the scrutiny on his spot after undergoing a prolonged dip, Gill responded to his naysayers with a terrific second-innings hundred in India's win in the Vizag Test. 

The prodigious talent backed it up with another second-innings classic against the tourists in Rajkot and should've scored consecutive centuries if not for the disappointing run-out on 91 early on Day 4. 

Gill would be hoping to continue in his resurgent ways via the next Test in Ranchi, starting Friday (February 23).
