Ollie Robinson In, Anderson Out? Here’s England's Probable XI Vs IND For Ranchi Test

In an exciting turn of events, England is strongly considering recalling Ollie Robinson for the upcoming do-or-die Test game against India scheduled at Ranchi. Robinson, who has been missing in action since July, is expected to make a splashing comeback in Ranchi.

England is set to clash with India for the penultimate Test match of the ongoing five-game series. The game is scheduled at Ranchi, and the first look at the pitch has forced the visitors to rethink their original plan.

Initially into the series, England stuck with the one-seamer approach but fell back to the traditional plan of fielding two proper fast bowlers in Rajkot.  However, the plan flopped massively as the visitors suffered a humiliating 434-run defeat.

Moreover, the pitch of Ranchi has already developed cracks that could force the Englishmen to fall back again to the original game plan of playing one seamer.

Interestingly, Ben Stokes is apparently planning to drop both Mark Wood and James Anderson, given their workload management issues, and could instead promote Ollie Robinson into the full-time seamer's role.

Robinson last donned the whites in July last year, which also happened to be his last game in competitive cricket.  Regardless, the pacer has shown flashes of brilliance in the past, which could aid his promotion in Ranchi.

Also, Robinson's alleged promotion stems from the fact that captain Stokes is returning to his seaming all-rounder role. The skipper sweated it out in the nets with the ball earlier this week, which led to wild speculations of his return with the ball.

If Stokes, who hasn't been bowling since enduring knee surgery in November, is ready to finally bowl, he could act as the second seam option, thus paving the way for Shoaib Bashir.

Ben Stokes' all-round skills could help England build a good, balanced starting lineup on a track-turner wicket of Ranchi. Notably, the upcoming Test match is a must-win game for England as India is currently leading the five-game series by 2-1.

England's Probable Playing XI vs India for 4th Test:

Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (c), Ben Foakes (wk), Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, Ollie Robinson.
