India's Number 3, Shubman Gill, may have faced a heartbreak in Rajkot on Day 4. However, Gill has ended the debate by proving his decision to move out of the opening position was correct - by hitting a commanding 91.

On Day 4 of the Rajkot Test against England, Gill bagged his first half-century of the series, taking Team India's lead to 372 runs. This knock becomes even more special as the right-hander came into this innings on the back of a first-innings duck.

Against Tom Hartley, the nightwatchman tapped towards mid-on, where Ben Stokes got to the ball quickly and threw it at the bowler's end. Hartley collected it cleanly to dislodge the bails after Kuldeep sent Gill back after calling his partner halfway down the pitch.

The 24-year-old came out to the crease after Rohit Sharma's dismissal - but Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal tormented the English bowling with a 155-run partnership, before the southpaw opener went off the ground due to reoccurring back spasms. Then, Gill and Kuldeep Yadav stitched an exemplary partnership of 55 runs.

Meanwhile, Team India is in a comfortable position, with a lead of over 370 runs and eight wickets in hand. At the time of publishing, Yashasvi Jaiswal - who got retired hurt - and Kuldeep are at the crease.
