[Watch] Shoaib Malik Deceived By Salamkheil's Beautiful Delivery In PSL 2024

In a thrilling display of spin bowling mastery, Afghanistan spinner Waqar Salamkheil left veteran, Pakistani batsman, Shoaib Malik bamboozled and reignited hope for his team in a gripping encounter of the PSL 2024 season.

Peshawar Zalmi squared off with Karachi Kings for the sixth fixture of the ongoing PSL 2024 season. Captain Babar Azam led from the front, and his 72-run knock lifted the Zalmi to a respectable total of 154 runs.

However, Babar Azam and co. were disappointed as the total was below par given the condition, and had the lower order supported Azam, they could have breached the 180-run mark.

Regardless, Peshawar Zalmi's bowling unit fought back in the chase. Luke Wood removed both the openers inside the powerplay to stay alive in the contest.

Veteran Pakistani batter Shoaib Malik used his experience to stabilise the innings and almost took the game away from the Zalmis before Waqar Salamkheil struck with a phenomenal delivery.

Just after the drinks break, Waqar bowled a flighted delivery to Malik, and the batter was tempted to attack. He ran down the pitch to slam it over the boundary ropes. However, Waqar deceived Malik as the ball spun after hitting the deck.

Malik was beaten and caught in no man's land. He had danced down the track, which allowed wicket-keeper Mohammad Haris enough time to dislodge the bails and end the veteran's brave stay at the crease.

Peshawar Zalmi breathed a sigh of relief as they sensed an opening to get back into the contest.

However, Waqar Salamkheil's phenomenal efforts were washed down the drain as Kieron Pollard stole the show with a 49-run knockoff of 21 deliveries.

That being said, Peshawar Zalmi have only themselves to blame as they didn't put enough runs on board in the first innings. It's Babar Azam's second loss in a row, and subsequently, his team has dropped to the bottom of the points table.
