'He Was All Over Me'- Hendricks Lauds Naseem Shah After Riveting Clash In PSL 2024

Even though he proved to be a match-winner for Multan Sultans with a measured knock of 58 in the PSL 2024 encounter on Tuesday (February 20), South African batter Reeza Hendricks admitted to having endured great trouble facing Pakistan and Islamabad United speedster Naseem Shah.

Hendricks said his first taste of Naseem, who is making a comeback to competitive cricket via PSL 2024 after four months following his shoulder surgery, wasn't a pleasing one.

Speaking to the press after a well-stitched knock in Sultans' successful run-chase to hunt down United's paltry 144 all out, the Proteas right-hander said the only time he found life discomforting in the middle was when he confronted the opposition's best pacer.

Hendricks Admits Troubles Facing Naseem

"He bowled really well today. It's my first time facing him actually. So yeah, there was one over, he was all over me (and) I couldn't get my bat to the ball. But as you mentioned, there is lots of pace, lots of quality (about him)," Hendricks said about Naseem.

Despite the loss for his team, Naseem had much to feel excited and happy over on a personal front as the young seamer seemed to have regained his best rhythm and pace after undergoing a prolonged absence from the game.

The 21-year-old delivered a searing in-swinger to castle the stumps of opener Dawid Malan earlier in the Sultans run-chase and finished with exceptional figures of 2 for 27 off his four overs.

His first outing on return versus the Lahore Qalandars hadn't fetched him the desired results, and he appeared slightly undercooked to concede 1 for 36 during his quota.

Naseem had undergone an operation to remove a tear in his shoulder tendon after being ruled out of the ICC World Cup 2023 in India.
