A video of Rohit Sharma has gone viral on social media, showing the star player visibly annoyed with two young fans who misbehaved while trying to take a selfie with him. The incident occurred recently when Rohit Sharma, along with his wife and baby boy, was leaving a venue in Mumbai.

The clip shows Rohit inside his moving car, extending his hand out the window to greet his fans. One of the young admirers politely shook his hand. However, the situation quickly became uncomfortable when both kids tried to pull his hand out forcefully while attempting to take a selfie. 

The former Indian captain was left visibly disappointed by their behaviour. He warned the children firmly before rolling up the car window to end the encounter.

Fans' over enthusiasm turns awkward for Rohit Sharma

The incident reportedly took place as Rohit Sharma arrived in Mumbai from Jamnagar to celebrate his daughter's birthday. As he acknowledged the small crowd gathered outside, one fan shook his hand, while the other two tried to forcibly take a selfie. 

Social media users have shared mixed reactions. While many expressed disappointment at the children's behaviour, others defended Rohit’s firm response, stating that even fans must respect boundaries.

He has always been a role model for young cricketers. Despite his fame, he tries to maintain a balance between interacting with fans and ensuring personal safety.

Rohit Sharma's on-field heroics

Alongside this off-field incident, Rohit continues to shine on the cricket field. He recently played in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Mumbai, scoring 155 against Sikkim. 

Although he was dismissed for a duck against Uttarakhand, he remains in excellent form.

The cricketer is set to play in India's upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand starting January 11. Fans will hope to see Rohit continue his run-scoring streak and maintain his aggressive batting style.

India will play New Zealand on January 11, with the first ODI to be played in Vadodara. The second match will be played on January 14 at Rajkot. The final match of the ODI series will be played at Indore on January 18.

Rohit Sharma continues strong form

The year 2025 was a memorable one for Rohit Sharma. He scored massive runs, broke multiple records, and led India to victory in the ICC Champions Trophy. He also became the top ODI batter in ICC rankings for the first time. 

Rohit is widely celebrated for his six-hitting ability, earning the record for the most sixes in ODIs, surpassing Shahid Afridi’s 351 sixes during India's first ODI against South Africa at Ranchi.

In 2025, Rohit scored 650 runs in 14 ODIs with an average of 50.00 and a strike-rate of 100.46. In IPL, the MI star batter made 418 in 15 matches at an average of 29.85 and a strike-rate of 149.28.
