With two weeks left for the Border-Gavaskar series opening Test match in Perth, Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant was captured at Delhi airport as he prepared to leave. Pant touched his mother’s feet to seek blessings and posed for a photo with a fan before entering the departure gate.

Team India is scheduled to tour to Australia for a crucial Border-Gavaskar Series that will determine their fate in the World Test Championship (WTC) Standings. The home Test series loss against New Zealand has cost them big time and now, India must win 4 of the 5 coming games to qualify for WTC 2025 finals.

Besides, the humiliation at home has forced BCCI to take strict note as they eye wholesome changes in the Test setup after the Australia series, especially if India fails to qualify for the WTC finals.

Hence, Pant was captured at Delhi airport leaving for Mumbai. His mother accompanied to see him off and before leaving Pant touched her feet to seek blessings.

Notably, India’s intra-squad practice game against India A has been cancelled to avoid last-minute injuries. Hence, the team will have to rely on net sessions to adapt to Australian conditions.
