Virat Kohli scripted history with his 63rd IPL half-century that he scored against LSG in IPL 2025. He surpassed David Warner to become the player with the most fifties in IPL history and had his wife, Anushka Sharma, cheering for him from the stands.
LSG annihilated RCB’s bowling lineup in the first inning to post a massive total of 227 runs on the board. Captain Rishabh Pant scored an unbeaten century (118 off 61) with 11 fours and 8 sixes.
However, RCB didn’t back down in the second inning. Openers Virat Kohli and Phil Salt showed intent with a 61-run opening partnership.

Despite Phil Salt’s dismissal in the powerplay, Virat Kohli continued his assault from the other end. He hit a half-century in the 10th over and surpassed David Warner to become the batter with the most fifties (63) in IPL history. Not only that, Kohli breached 9000 runs for RCB in the T20s (IPL and CLT20 combined).
Meanwhile, as the batter celebrated his milestone, his wife, Anushka Sharma, was beaming in joy from the stands. She stood up and applauded her husband with a big smile and claps.

That being said, the tricky chase went haywire for RCB when Virat Kohli lost his wicket to Avesh Khan in the 12th over. Before that, Rajat Patidar and Liam Livingstone gifted their prized wickets to William O’Rourke.
It all boils down to skipper Jitesh Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, and Romario Shepherd to ensure RCB crossed the finish line.
Interestingly, RCB are already through to the playoffs, while LSG stands eliminated. However, a victory here will elevate Bengaluru’s chances of finishing in the top 2.
