Virat Kohli Becomes First RCB Player To Score 9000 T20 Runs

Virat Kohli is a master T20 batter and he continues to showcase his mastery in this format as the RCB opener created another record during his knock against the Lucknow Super Giants in a crucial league stage match. Kohli after he breached 24 runs mark became the first batter in RCB history to score 9000 runs in T20s.

Kohli etches his name in history books

Interestingly, the 9000 combined runs have come in IPL as well as the now-defunct Champions League (T20). He now has 8576 runs in the IPL, and the rest in the Champions League.

Even in the IPL, Kohli is etching closer to 9000 run-mark and could become the first batter in the league's history to achieve this magnificent feat. Overall, Kohli has an average of nearly 40 for RCB and it includes 8 hundreds and 64 fifties.

Most Runs for a single franchise

Kohli leads the charts and three other Indians also make the cut with Rohit Sharma in the second place, followed by Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni at fourth and fifth place respectively. English and Hampshire batter, James Vince sits at the third place.

Kohli's spectacular IPL 2025 season

Prior to the clash Vs LSG, Kohli had amassed 548 runs in 12 matches and it included 7 fifties. He is in the Orange Cap race as RCB have won all 7 matches wherein Kohli has racked up a fifty-plus score this season. RCB qualified for the playoffs and Kohli deserves a bit of praise as the batter has been spectacular, especially in run chases.
