Yuzvendra Chahal has been felicitated by Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini for being part of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup winning team in the West Indies last month.

Back on June 29, Team India defeated South Africa in a hard-fought final to end their decade-long ICC trophy drought.

Chahal, along with the rest of his teammates, subsequently performed a victory parade through an open bus upon returning to Mumbai the following week.

Yuzvendra Chahal gets felicitated on Haryana return

Yuzvendra Chahal, who recently returned to Haryana after being part of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup winning squad, has been felicitated by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. Having the moment captured by the media, the 34-year-old cricketer received a special medal, a shawl and a souvenir from the politician on July 11.

While Yuzvendra Chahal travelled across the USA and West Indies along with the Indian cricket team for the 2024 T20 World Cup, the seasoned leg-spinner did not receive a single opportunity in the playing XI throughout the tournament.

Moreover, Chahal played the last of his 80 T20Is for Team India back in August 2023 at Lauderhill during a series against West Indies, and made his previous ODI appearance back in January 2023 at Indore against New Zealand. So far in his career, the cricketer has snapped 217 international wickets across both formats combined.

While he recently turned up for the Rajasthan Royals franchise under the guidance of Sanju Samson in this year’s IPL 2024 season, it remains to be seen when Yuzvendra Chahal will receive a comeback call into India’s international squad.
