Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh recently penned an emotional farewell message for India’s outbound head coach Rahul Dravid. Under the guidance of captain Sharma and coach Dravid, Team India won the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies last month by defeating South Africa in a hard-fought final.

The match also marked the final assignment for Rahul Dravid as India’s head coach, thus bringing to an end to his successful three-year tenure on a high note. 

Following India’s win, Rohit Sharma also decided to announce his retirement from T20I cricket, concurrently making the sudden announcement with fellow seniors Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja.


Ritika Sajdeh shares emotional message for Rahul Dravid

On July 9, Rohit Sharma took to his Instagram account and shared an extensive note for outbound head coach Rahul Dravid. Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh shared the aforementioned post on her story, and wrote an emotional farewell message for the former Indian cricketer.

Ritika described Rahul Dravid as someone close to her family, and claimed that their daughter Samaria will be missing the coach’s absence the most.

Rahul Dravid took over as national head coach following India’s crashing exit from the 2021 T20 World Cup in the UAE. Forming an association with newly-appointed full-time skipper Rohit Sharma, the Indian team registered numerous series wins at home, and qualified for the 2023 WTC final.

Team India also won the 2023 Asia Cup, and reached the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup at home. Dravid’s successful tenure eventually culminated with the Indian team lifting the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados on June 29 to bring an end to their 11-year ICC trophy drought.

As of now, the cricketer-turned-coach has been eyed by the KKR management for the mentorship role of the franchise.
