To the delight of RCB fans, legendary batter Virat Kohli returned to India yesterday, eventually joining the franchise for the upcoming IPL 2024 season. 

Since he skipped the England home Tests due to the birth of his second child, a few media outlets speculated his non-participation in the lucrative league. However, the batting maestro put all rumours to rest, as he arrived at the Mumbai airport on Sunday morning. 

Meanwhile, Kohli has started practising ahead of RCB's tournament opener against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings. 

In a video going viral on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Kohli can be seen attending an intense fielding session with his RCB teammates. 

Apart from the Indian superstar, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, who dramatically joined the franchise via an all-cash trade with Mumbai Indians, can also be seen working on his fielding skills. 

Besides his batting, Kohli is hailed for his incredible fielding attributes, particularly in the outfield. The talismanic Indian batter has been a prolific performer for the Bangalore-based franchise, amassing 7263 runs at an average of 37.25 and a strike rate of 130.02. 

In the upcoming IPL season, Kohli will likely open the batting alongside skipper Faf du Plessis, with the duo expected to provide their side with a rollicking start in the power play. 

However, considering they have Green in their squad, RCB might decide to open with the Australian prodigy, slotting Kohli at number three.
