After a two-month paternity leave, Virat Kohli returned to India early morning on Sunday (March 17) and will be joining his franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) shortly ahead of the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Kohli, who had missed the five-Test series against England to be with his wife and film star Anushka Sharma for the birth of their second child in London, came back to Indian shores as he now rejoins the RCB squad for the IPL 2024, starting March 22.

The legendary batter will participate in a pre-season training camp organised by the RCB franchise ahead of their opening-day clash with the mighty defending champions and five-time winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Virat Kohli To Join RCB Training Camp

"After missing the five-Test series at home against England to be with his family for the birth of his second child, Virat Kohli is set to return to competitive cricket. He will link up with the squad at a pre-tournament camp in Bengaluru ahead of the opening game on March 22 in Chennai," ESPN Cricinfo reported.

Kohli has returned home five days before the start of the fresh IPL campaign, where RCB face a high-intense bout with the Super Kings in their very first encounter.

A win would give the team immense confidence and momentum for the rest of the tournament, and their former skipper would be aware of it.

The 34-year-old would love to resume his stint for RCB from where he left last season. Even though the team couldn't go past the league stage, Kohli had a great individual run and made a whopping 639 runs from 14 games, including two centuries, while maintaining a strike rate of 139.82.
