In a heartwarming greeting, paparazzi present at the Mumbai Airport to capture the Indian cricket team leaving for the USA to participate in the T20 World Cup urged Rishabh Pant to bring the trophy home, and the wicket-keeper responded with the sweetest gesture.

With the IPL 2024 season coming to an end on Sunday, the majority of 2024 T20 World Cup bound Indian players are relieved of their club duties. 

BCCI earlier elected a 15-man squad for the tournament with as many as four reserves accompanying the unit to the USA, where India is scheduled to play all of their league games.

That being said, with the tournament just a week away, the first batch of Indian players departed for the USA on Saturday night. The team arrived at the Mumbai International Airport to board the flight to the States. 

Pant greets paparazzi

Interestingly, paparazzi were present at the airport to greet and capture the Indian cricket stars as they arrived on the team bus a few hours prior to the flight.

As Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant went in the boarding gate, paparazzi urged him to win the tournament and bring the cup home. Pant acknowledged the support and gestured a thumbs up to indicate that the men in blue would do their absolute best to claim the ICC trophy.

Notably, the 2024 T20 World Cup is crucial for Rishabh Pant as the wicket-keeper batter is making a return to the national squad after nearly 18 months after a near fatal car accident kept him out of the field for over a year.

However, with much-needed game practice during IPL, Pant seems ready to embrace the national colours once again.
