The T20 World Cup is just around the corner, with 20 teams fighting it out for the coveted championship.

Teams are divided into groups of 4, with 5 teams in a single group, as the mega event commences from June 2. One of the favourites for this year's T20 World Cup 2024 is Team India. The Rohit Sharma led side boasts a formidable unit, with players coming off a gruelling IPL campaign.

While the batting looks solid, with experienced players in the top-7, the bowling does look weak, with Jasprit Bumrah being the only exception. The Indian pace attack does lack the cutting-edge, and have to be at their best to help India clinch the World Cup for the second time.

In this article, we have a look at the T20 WC bound Indian pacers, and how they have fared in IPL 2024.

Jasprit Bumrah

Arguably India's biggest hope in the upcoming World Cup, Bumrah has had another stellar IPL campaign. While his team, Mumbai Indians finished at the last position in the points table, Bumrah, still shown brightly and managed to pick up 20 wickets in 13 matches, at an impressive economy rate of 6.48.

Mohammed Siraj

Another disappointing IPL campaign for Mohammed Siraj. The RCB spearhead looked a pale shadow of himself and picked up 15 wickets in 14 matches, but the economy rate was on the higher side (9.19). Moreover, his death bowling exploits also remain a concern, as witnessed in the Eliminator match against the Rajasthan Royals.

Arshdeep Singh

Once touted as the future of Indian attack, Arshdeep Singh has faded in the last one year. Left-arm pacers are always an X-factor in any format, and Arshdeep's ability with the ball is vital for India's chances in the T20 WC. However, it is fare to say that he hasn't justified his selection, judging by his IPL 2024 performance. The dynamic pacer did grab 19 wickets, but the conomy rate is a worrying prospect, hovering well over 10 runs per over.

Avesh Khan

Travelling with the team as a reserve player, Avesh started off the IPL 2024 on the front-foot, but faded as the tournament progressed. He scalped 16 wickets in 15 matches, with an economy of 9.82.

Khaleel Ahmed

One of DC's brightest prospect this IPL season, Khaleel Ahmed once again proved his worth for Rishabh Pant's side. Another travelling reserve for the World Cup, Khaleel picked up 17 wickets in 14 matches, but just like Avesh, his economy was just under 10 runs per over.
