'I Call Them Family': Dhruv Jurel's 'Emotional Post' After RR's Heartbreaking Loss To SRH

A day after RR crashed out of the IPL 2024 playoff following brutal 36 runs defeat to SRH, wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel expressed his gratitude for the roller coaster ride he experienced with RR and referred to the team as his extended family.

Rajasthan Royals (RR), who seemed invincible in the first half of the IPL 2024 season, encountered a dramatic turnaround in the second half as they failed to win a single game in the league stages in May.

Yet, RR managed to qualify for the playoffs and beat RCB to set up a Qualifier 2 clash against SRH. However, fate once again tested RR as Chepauk’s slow wicket left RR batters in complete tatters.

Despite an unwarranted collapse, Dhruv Jurel led a fight back from one end. Jurel was down on the ground after getting hit by a beamer on the neck. Yet continued this resistance with a remarkable 56* (35) runs knock. 

However, it proved to be not good enough as, due to a lack of support from the other end, RR fell short of 36 runs in the chase.

That being said, as RR’s campaign came to an end, Dhruv Jurel shared an appreciation post for the team on his social media. Jurel said that while RR couldn’t cross the finish line, he is still grateful for all the experiences and memories he made with the team.

Jurel added that it’s safe to call RR a family as his bond with the team grew stronger this year.

That being said, IPL's inaugural season winners once again failed to capitalise on a great start and choked in the playoffs.
