Virat Kohli's Absence In First Batch Travel For T20 World Cup Raises Eyebrows: Details Inside

Virat Kohli didn't travel with the first batch of Indian players to the USA for the T20 World Cup. Kohli, along with Rohit Sharma and other stars, were expected to depart from Mumbai on Saturday, May 25. They were supposed to head to Dubai before departing for the USA.

The reason for Kohli not travelling with Rohit and co is because of the pending paperwork. Kohli is expected to depart to USA by May 30th.

All the players in India's 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup are currently out of the IPL. None of the Indian players selected for the World Cup are part of KKR or SRH, the finalists. 

Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and others were spotted along with head coach Rahul Dravid and others staff in Mumbai. However, Virat Kohli was absent in this group.

There's a chance that Kohli may not play the warm-up match against Bangladesh.

Virat Kohli's form ahead of T20 WC

Virat Kohli enters the T20 World Cup in exceptional form. Known for his consistent performances in the tournament, Kohli arrives after winning the IPL Orange Cap. With an impressive tally of 741 runs in 15 matches, he has an average of 61.75 and a strike-rate exceeding 153.

Virat Kohli is expected to bat at number 3 for the Indian team. With Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal likely to open, Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are expected to follow at numbers 3 and 4 respectively.

India is set to play their first game of the T20 World Cup against Ireland on June 5.
