India's T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, has received a major boost as he has been deemed fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and is all set to feature in the upcoming rounds of Duleep Trophy 2024.

Suryakumar was all set to feature for India C, but injured his hand while representing Mumbai in the recently concluded Buchi Babu Tournament. However, as reported by Hindustan Times, The NCA doctors are happy with Surya's progress, and he will feature in the Duleep Trophy.

The reports also mentioned that it is unclear whether the right-hand batter will play the second or third round.

"Surya's recovery is going well. He is almost 100 per cent and he knows it," said a BCCI source who met Surya on the sidelines of the Duleep Trophy match between India A and India B at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Suryakumar Yadav's Tryst With Injuries

Suryakumar Yadav has expressed his desire to feature for India in all-formats. Thus, he also took part in the Buchi Babu Tournament and featured for Mumbai in a solitary game, where he injured his hand. Notably, SKY sprained his hand and did not even come to bat.

In the past one year, SKY has had several injuries. He underwent groin surgery earlier this year and had also fractured his leg, resulting in him missing most of the action in 2024.

SKY Aims For A Future In Test Cricket

Suryakumar Yadav made it clear that he wants to play Test matches for India as he last has played just one red-ball game for the Rohit Sharma-led Side that too in February 2023 against Australia after which he got injured.
