In the latest news, overnight rain has once again delayed the start of play on Day 2 of the Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand at the Greater Noida Sports Complex. No play was possible on Day 1 due to a wet outfield, despite the best efforts from the ground staff to make conditions playable.

The toss, initially rescheduled for 9 AM local time on Tuesday, faced further delays due to wet patches on the outfield. Umpires are expected to inspect the pitch again at 12 PM local time to determine if play can begin.

This Test marks Afghanistan's third red-ball fixture of the year, following one-off matches against Ireland and Sri Lanka. Due to security concerns, Afghanistan continues to stage its international matches in India and can't host games on home soil.

For New Zealand, this Test is the start of a three-month tour of the subcontinent. After the series against Afghanistan, the Black Caps will head to Sri Lanka for two Tests, followed by a three-Test series in India.
