Suryakumar Yadav has shared a cryptic story on his Instagram account, with several fans and users speculating it to be an indication of his unavailability for the forthcoming IPL 2024 season.

The 33-year-old batsman was last seen in action during India’s limited-overs series in South Africa, before an ankle injury and a sports hernia prompted him to undergo a surgery and rehabilitation.

While recent reports indicated that the cricketer will likely be missing the initial stages of Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2024 campaign, the senior T20 batsman might well have confirmed the theory through his latest Instagram activity.

Suryakumar Yadav set to miss initial phase of IPL 2024?

On March 19, i.e., a couple of days prior to the launch of the much-awaited IPL 2024 season, Suryakumar Yadav shared a cryptic story featuring nothing but a ‘broken heart’ emoji, leaving much to ponder for his fans and followers on Instagram.

Despite lack of context behind his story, several experts and ardent Mumbai Indians followers have speculated it to be an indication for Suryakumar Yadav’s confirmed absence from the initial stages of IPL 2024 season.

Earlier this year, he was ruled out of India’s squad for their three-match home T20I series against Afghanistan. He also failed to recover in time for the DY Patil T20 Cup in February.

Having underwent a successful sports hernia surgery in Munich back in January this year, Suryakumar Yadav is currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru in a bid to attain full recovery.

The Mumbai Indians players, meanwhile, are prepping up for their opening IPL 2024 clash against Gujarat Titans on March 24.
