The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 opener tickets for the much-awaited clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have become the season's hottest commodity.

The match, set to take place at the Chepauk Stadium, has fans and celebrities alike scrambling for a seat. Among them is India's veteran off-spinner and former CSK star, Ravichandran Ashwin, who has publicly shared his struggle to secure tickets for the match.

The ticket sale, which went live on March 18 at 9:10 am, saw fans express their disappointment and frustration over not being able to purchase tickets, despite the online process being introduced to streamline the experience. Technical glitches and long virtual queues left many empty-handed, contrasting sharply with the happiness of the few who managed to secure their tickets for the CSK vs RCB game.

Amidst this ticket frenzy, Ravichandran Ashwin took to social media platform 'X' to highlight the "unreal demand" for tickets. In a light-hearted post, Ashwin shared that his children were eager to attend both the opening ceremony and the game, humorously appealing to the CSK team for assistance in obtaining match tickets.

"Unreal ticket demand for the #CSKvRCB #IPL2024 opener at Chepauk. My kids want to the see opening ceremony and the game. @ChennaiIPL pls help,” wrote Ashwin.

Ashwin's connection to CSK is deep-rooted, with the celebrated spinner having taken 70 wickets for the team during his tenure from 2008 to 2015.

Following his stint with CSK, Ashwin played for Rising Pune Supergiants, Punjab Kings, and most recently, Rajasthan Royals. He will look to make an impact in the upcoming IPL 2024 as he is set to represent RR in the cricketing extravaganza.
