The Afghanistan pace sensation, Naveen-Ul-Haq, was at his best in the third T20I against Ireland on Monday at Sharjah. Naveen-ul-Haq, known for his sheer pace and the unique angle he creates with his bowling, took three wickets - all bowled- including two off his first two deliveries.  

Afghanistan won the coin toss and chose to take a bat first. Ibrahim Zadran was the main man at No.3, scoring 72 runs off 51 balls, but the other Afghan batters couldn't quite step up. 

They wrapped up their turn at 155-7 after 20 overs, with six Irish bowlers each picking a wicket. In reply, Ireland started off their run-chase on a terrible note, courtesy Naveen-Ul-Haq’s bowling masterclass, who provided Afghanistan early breakthroughs. 

Taking charge of the second over, Naveen unleashed a thunderous inswinger that sliced through Andy Balbirnie's defence, flicking the leg bail with its first delivery. 

Lorcan Tucker found himself in the same predicament with the next ball, as another massive inswinger left him flummoxed, despite attempting to counter the swing by coming down the track.

Fazalhaq Farooqi (1-19), Azmatullah Omarzai (4-9), and Rashid Khan (1-12) then tore apart the Ireland middle order, as they crumbled from 91-6 to 98 all out. Naveen finished with three wickets in just 2.2 overs he bowled.  

It's worth noting that Navin Ul Haq's consistent form is a positive sign for the Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League season, where he's expected to be a go-to pace option in their playing 11.
