Multan Sultans all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed cleaned up Islamabad United captain and number four batter Shadab Khan with a peach in the PSL 2024 final at Karachi. 

Tasked to bowl right after the opening power play, Iftikhar struck big in just his second over of the match as the United batting line-up slipped to 58-3 by the end of nine overs.

The Multan Sultans stalwart had also clobbered his way to an unbeaten 32 off just 20 balls in the first half of the game to take his side to a respectable 159-run total upfront.

Iftikhar shattered Shadab Khan’s stumps after the latter attempted to hoik him over the leg side to start the ninth over of the United's innings.

Chasing 160 for lifting the PSL 2024 trophy, Shadab’s dismissal at the hands of Iftikhar further pulverised the United line-up at 55-3 inside the halfway stage.

Earlier in the match, Iftikhar blasted three sixes and a sizzling boundary in his slog-overs cameo to take Multan Sultans to a respectable 159-run total. 

The star all-rounder added 32 runs with Mohammad Ali for the final wicket after joining the latter at 127-9 in 17 overs.

Apart from Iftikhar’s timely breakthrough in the second half of the game, Multan Sultans spinner Khusdil Shah also deceived Colin Munro and Agha Salman during his four-over spell to further dent Islamabad United’s run-chase pursuit.
