One of the most exciting talents in the cricketing world, India's Suryakumar Yadav underwent a successful sports hernia surgery on Wednesday evening in Germany.

Yadav, who had earlier undergone ankle surgery last month, visited Munich and got under the knife for the second time in as many months, which could see the batter out of action for another four to five weeks.

Yadav's sports hernia injury was discovered during this time away from cricket after injuring himself in South Africa, which sidelined the batter from taking part in India's T20I series against Afghanistan and the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024.

The 31-year-old took to Instagram and provided an update about his recent surgery, stating that the player will be back in action soon.

I will be back very soon - Suryakumar Yadav

"Surgery done. I want to thank everyone for their concerns and well wishes for my health, and I am happy to tell you all that I will be back very soon."

The T20 specialist player has been an integral part of the Indian 20-overs setup since making his debut in 2021, featuring in 60 matches and amassing 2,141 runs with four centuries and 17 fifties while still struggling to find his way in Tests and ODIs.

Yadav, who is an avid fan as well, managed to find time to see India's thrilling Super Over win over Afghanistan last evening, where Rohit Sharma and Co. whitewashed the visitors 3-0.
