Shubman Gill notched up his second century of the match against England at Edgbaston in Birmingham. India Under-19, with centuries from Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Vihaan Malhotra blanked England Under-19 to go 3-1 up in the series. In other news, Bangladesh levelled their three-match series against Sri Lanka in the second ODI.

Shubman Gill, India Shatter Records To Put ENG At Crossroads

Indian captain Shubman Gill notched up his eighth Test ton and his second of the match by cracking a near run-a-ball 161, thus aggregating 430 runs for the match to fall just behind Graham Gooch for the world record. Overnight opener KL Rahul and middle-order batters Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja also conjured cunning half-centuries as India mounted 427-6d from 83 overs to set England a record target of 608 runs. Team India also completed a match aggregate of 1,014 runs, their first-ever of over 1,000 runs in a single Test. For England, Shoaib Bashir picked up two wickets in the day, including that of Gill.

Chasing 608, England lost three wickets late in the day to reach a troublesome --- from 15 overs by stumps, with Akash Deep (2-23) and Mohammed Siraj () doing all the damage.

Nathan Lyon Cleans Up WI, Seales Strikes Early

West Indies folded up for 253 to concede a 33-run lead to the visiting Australian team at the halfway stage of the second Test at St George’s. Brandon King top-scored for the hosts with 75 crucial runs before Nathan Lyon cleaned up the West Indies lower-order with a scintillating three-wicket haul.

By the time of stumps on Day 2, Australia lost both openers Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja to Jayden Seales to reach 12-2. The visitors also lost night watchman Nathan Lyon earlier on Day 3 to Alzarri Joseph to reach 69-3 from 27 overs by lunch break.

Suryavanshi, Malhotra Tons And Pushpak’s Three Wins It For IND U19

India Under-19 won the third Youth ODI against England Under-19 in Worcester to go 3-1 up in the five-match series. Vaibhav Suryavanshi blasted 143 from just 78 balls to top-score for the visitors, while number three Vihaan Malhotra made 129 off 121 as India charted 363-9 off 50 overs. For England, Jack Home picked up figures of 4-63 and Sebastian Morgan snared 3-54 in the high-scoring innings.

Chasing 364, England fell 55 runs short of their target at 308 all out off 45.3 overs, despite featuring fifties from both openers BJ Dawkins and Joseph Moores and a century from Rocky Flintoff. Naman Pushpak sealed the deal for India with match-defining figures of 3-63.

Tanvir Islam Takes Five As BAN Levels Up With SL

Bangladesh edged out Sri Lanka by 16 runs in the second ODI at Colombo to enforce a decider in the three-match series. Batting first, Bangladesh posted 248 from 45.5 overs with half-centuries from opener Parvez Hossain Emon and number four Towhid Hridoy. Tanzim Hasan Sakib also bludgeoned 33* from just 21 balls to provide a slog-overs impetus in the innings. For Sri Lanka, Asitha Fernando (4-35) and Wanindu Hasaranga (3-60) picked up seven wickets between them.

Chasing 249, Sri Lanka folded up for just 232 in 48.5 overs. Tanvir Islam picked up a match-winning five-fer for Bangladesh with figures of 5-39, tendering Janith Liyanage’s fighting 78 and Kusal Mendis’ cracking 31-ball 56 in vain.

Netravalkar, Maxwell, Edwards Blank Seattle Orcas

Washington Freedom walloped Seattle Orcas by eight wickets and more than 10 overs to spare at Lauderhill in match 26 of the MLC 2025 season. Winning the toss and bowling first, Freedom bowlers Saurabh Netravalkar, captain Glenn Maxwell and Jack Edwards picked up three wickets each to fold up Orcas for just 82 in 17.4 overs, their second lowest in MLC history. For the Orcas, Heinrich Klaasen himself cracked 48 of those runs from just 39 balls with four huge sixes.

In response, Freedom opener Rachin Ravindra made 32 off 23 balls before number three Mukhtar Ahmed top-scored in the chase with a match-winning 21-ball 36*.
