In the rain-reduced first T20I between Australia and Pakistan at the Gabba in Brisbane, the hosts have pulled off a memorable win to start the series on a high. Australia registered a 29-run win over Pakistan to lead the series 1-0.

It was a seven-over match as rain played a spoilsport, which led to the match referees making a decision to play a seven-over affair. Meanwhile, there has been a massive error that took place in the match, which missed the eyes of the umpires as well as the match referee.

Notably, according to the revised rule, two bowlers could bowl two overs and three bowlers to bowl one over each. Another condition was allowing one bowler to bowl three overs and rest one over each.

However, Mohammad Rizwan, who was playing his first T20I as Pakistan's regular captain, made a massive error as he violated the revised rules and bowled two overs each from three bowlers. Notably, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf bowled two overs each.

Australia vs Pakistan Match Summary

In reply, Pakistan had the worst possible start as they lost five wickets early on and managed to put just 64 runs in seven overs and lost nine wickets. Further, Rizwan registered a duck, while Babar Azam also managed to score just 3 runs.

The two teams will now lock horns against each other on November 16 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
