Glenn Maxwell Joins Elite List As He Completes 10,000 T20 Runs In 1st T20I

In the ongoing first T20I between Pakistan and Australia at the Gabba, Brisbane, the hosts are on a course to a comfortable win. Australia, batting first, set a target of 94 runs in a seven-over game. 

Notably, Australia rode on Glenn Maxwell's innings as the former RCB batter amassed 43 (19), which featured five fours and three sixes. Further, Maxwell was toying with the bowlers as Maxwell whacked them for switch-hit shots all across the ground. 

With the knock, Glenn entered history books as he completed 10,000 T20 runs and joined an elite list. Notably, Maxwell has become the third Australian after David Warner and Aaron Finch to reach this milestone.  Here is the list of most runs for Australia in T20 cricket.

Notably, Maxwell completed his milestone in 448 matches, which features seven centuries and 54 fifties. Overall, he is the 16th player in international cricket to amass 10,000 T20 runs. Chris Gayle is the leading run-getter in international cricket with 14562 runs in 463 matches.

Australia vs Pakistan Match Summary

Australia have registered a 29 runs win over Pakistan. The hosts, batting first, put 93 runs on the board courtesy of Maxwell's innings. Further, Pakistan got off to a positive start and hit two fours. However, the Men in Green went from 0/8 to 16/5 that left Pakistan crippled.

Mohammad Rizwan, who was playing his first match as Pakistan T20I skipper, registered a duck, while Babar Azam scored 3 (2). Eventually, Pakistan managed to put 64 runs on the board.
