Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) outclassed Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 42 runs in match 65 of the IPL 2025 season on May 23. Already ruled out of the playoffs’ race, the outcome marked a consolation win for the SRH, and dashed RCB’s ambitions of securing a top two finish.

Young SRH spinner Harsh Dubey delivered one of the defining spells of the match, as the 22-year-old picked up the all-important wicket of RCB opener and senior batter Virat Kohli after the latter had scored a quickfire 25-ball 43. Nonetheless, after the match, Kohli demonstrated his usual class by signing Dubey’s cap, a gracious gesture that left the young spinner beaming with pride.

Harsh Dubey “truly grateful” for signed cap

Shortly after the match, Harsh Dubey shared snippets from the game on his social media account. The cricketer also showed off his hat which he got signed from vintage RCB opener and legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli.

In the caption, Dubey wrote: “Truly Grateful”

It is worth noting that Harsh Dubey’s prized breakthrough of Virat Kohli turned out to be one of the biggest defining moments of the match. Chasing 232 for a win, RCB started off with an explosive 80-run opening partnership in just seven overs. Virat Kohli himself raced to 43 runs from 24 deliveries before extra bounce from Harsh accounted for his downfall.

Phil Salt also bludgeoned a swift 32-ball 62, but RCB folded up for just 189 despite reaching 173-3 at one stage of the match. Losing their final seven wickets for just 16 runs. RCB’s late collapse allowed SRH to walk away with a welcome 42-run win.
