Delhi Capitals secured a consolation six-wicket win in Jaipur over Punjab Kings in match 66 of the IPL 2025 season. The Kings batted first and amassed 206-8 from 20 overs, with Shreyas Iyer crafting 53 of those runs from 34 balls while Marcus Stoinis clobbering an unbeaten 44 off just 16 deliveries at the death. For the Capitals, Mustafizur Rahman unfurled the spell of the innings with figures of 3-33, and spinners Vipraj Nigam and Kuldeep Yadav picked up two wickets each.

BCCI Announce India Squad For England Series

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled India’s 18-player squad for their upcoming five-match Test series in England. The series will mark India’s first Test assignment since the retirements of legendary cricketers Ravichandran Ashwin, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Mohammed Shami and Sarfaraz Khan were excluded from the line-up, while selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar additionally confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah will likely miss either one or more Test in the series.

Shubman Gill Named India’s New Test Captain

The BCCI also named charismatic Indian batter Shubman Gill as the new captain of the Test side ahead of the upcoming tour of England. The cricketer will be replacing Rohit Sharma, who recently announced his retirement from Tests, thus leaving the captaincy role vacant. England crushed Zimbabwe by an innings and 45 runs on Day 3 of their four-day one-off Test match in Nottingham. Following on and resuming their second innings at 30-2, Zimbabwe’s overnight batter Sean Williams made 88 runs from 82 balls while Sikandar Raza punched out a rapid 60 in the middle order. BCCI Punishes RCB Captain Rajat Patidar

The BCCI has imposed a hefty fine on RCB captain Rajat Patidar for violating a major rule during his team’s recent IPL 2025 match against SRH in Lucknow. As per the official statement, the RCB fell short on the over-rate in the game. As a result, Patidar was charged with a level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL code of conduct, and was penalised Rs. 24 lakhs of his match fees. Other members from the playing XI as well as the Impact Substitute were also subjected to a fine of either Rs. 6 lakhs or 25 per cent of their respective match fees.
