Delhi Capitals acquired Sameer Rizvi for a sum of INR 95 lakhs, i.e., more than triple than his base price of INR 30 lakhs at the IPL 2025 mega auction in November last year. While the cricketer managed to rake in the big bucks at the bidding event, he had bagged an INR 8.4 crore deal with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise the year before for the IPL 2024 season.

It is worth noting that Sameer Rizvi’s prolific run in domestic T20 cricket for Uttar Pradesh came in handy during the auction, as it reaffirmed his reputation as a dependable power-hitter in the middle order.

Sameer Rizvi made his IPL debut back in 2024 for the CSK franchise. Despite bagging an INR 8.4 crore deal, the cricketer managed to aggregate just 51 runs from five innings at a dismal average of 12.75 and at a lukewarm strike rate of 118.60.
