Indian veteran spinner Ravindra Jadeja achieved a special feat as he equalled Abdul Qadir's record of most five-wicket-hauls by a spinner at home in Test cricket following heroics in Mumbai Test against New Zealand. Jadeja is now ranked 8th in the legendary list that features Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, and Ravi Ashwin.
The third Test between India and New Zealand kicked off earlier today at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The visitors batted first on a turning track amid hot and humid conditions. Akash Deep provided the first breakthrough with the new ball, followed by spinners Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja's carnage.

Jadeja was getting a significant degree of turn from the surface, and Will Young fell prey to his drifter, resulting in a breakthrough for India. From then, Jadeja held one end and bagged dismissals at regular intervals. He knocked out Tom Blundell in the same over before dismissing Glenn Phillips with another turner.
The Kiwis had no answer to Jadeja's masterclass and with Matt Henry's wicket, the veteran bagged his career 14th five wicket haul. He is now tied with Pakistan's Abdul Qadir in the list of most five wicket hauls clipped by a spinner in home Tests. Both Jadeja and Qadir rank 8th in the all-time list with 12 fifers each. The legendary list is led by Muttiah Muralitharan with 45 fifers, followed by Ravichandran Ashwin with 29 five-wicket-hauls.

India on backfoot after comical blunders at stumps
Everything went in India's favour on Day 1 of the third Test against New Zealand in Mumbai except for the final 10-15 minutes. From 78/1, the hosts collapsed to 86/4 by stumps, courtesy of unfortunate blunders. After Yashasvi Jaiswal's reverse sweep attempt backfired, nightwatchman Siraj burnt a review to walk back on a golden duck. Virat Kohli called for a suicidal run and was dismissed off Matt Henry's direct throw at the non-striker's end.
